We’re a credit union and community building is what we do. So when the University of Regina put out a call for development partners for its College Avenue Campus renewal project, Conexus jumped at the chance to help save the historic campus.
With our proud history of supporting education, arts and culture, we saw this project as a natural fit. Conexus submitted a unique proposal that put our co-operative principles to work to make a meaningful difference in the community. We’re thrilled the university chose to partner with Conexus.
Our project is about much more than building a much-needed home for our corporate services staff. It will:

Help turn the campus into an educational and cultural hub
Save the university millions as it restores historic buildings
Support the return of Darke Hall to its former glory as a premier performance venue
Support Saskatchewan entrepreneurs with a business incubator
The University of Regina specifically sought proposals for development on land already marked for potential future development. Conexus has received approval to build on a site directly west of Darke Hall at the edge of Wascana Centre, an option that best supports the university’s plans for the campus.
By building next to Darke Hall, we’re helping the university save millions and making improvements that will preserve the building as a heritage performance space, while bringing its systems and structures up to today’s standards and codes. This includes:
